Richard “Gubby” Marriott
Sad news guys. Richard “Gubby”Marriott Crossed the Bar earlier this morning. Gubby had been fighting a very brave fight against cancer for the past year or so.
Gubby served in the branch through the mid 60’s/70’s.
He was a committee member for four years.
His funeral arrangements will be published later. Request from the family, no phone calls at this time and all contact through the AHA Secretary.
I served with Gubby on Albion 67/68 and on the committee, he was a quiet man who enjoyed his family and friends. I shall miss his company, visits and occasional phone calls.
RIP Gubbs. Safe harbour old friend, no more pain.
09 Mar 2017 UPDATE:
Funeral arrangements for Gubby Marriott.
Received today from Gubby’s daughter.
Thank you for the very kind message that you wrote on the AH Facebook site. Myself, mum, Mark and Gary have taken great comfort from the comments, memories and best wishes from Dad’s friends and members of the association. Please could we ask that you pass on the following funeral arrangements to those that would like them:
Tuesday 21st March at 1200hrs, The Edgar Newman Chapel, Kettering Crematorium, Rothwell Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire, NN16 8XE. My dad’s wishes were to have no flowers, however donations would be most welcomed to either Cynthia Spencer Hospice or the Help for Heroes Charity. Thank you for all of your help, support and kindness at this difficult time, with love from Michelle, Margaret, Mark and Gary xxx
