Goodbye buddy your gone but will never be forgotten by North East it was great to see you loved like all of us to swing the light. Toose I will be very sad when you do not turn up for our regular sessions. RIP Old Buddy.

  13. I fist met Toose at one of our North East get-togethers. We shared similar, often sad and tragic, experiences of serving the people of Durham and Gateshead. I recognized Toose’s integrity and contribution to the community. He was a brave Gateshead fireman. And brave to the last. Stan Smith summed it up when he told me he was ‘hurting’. We all are. I can’t imagine what Toose’s family must be feeling. A great man and a great friend.
